Idera releases FREE SQLcheck Monitoring and Diagnostic Tool

Idera has developed a great SQL Server monitor and diagnostic application, called SQLcheck, and they're giving it away to introduce you to their line of system admin tools. SQLcheck may be the ultimate diagnostic dashboard for organizing critical information about the database server hardware, its operating system and SQL Server itself.

MicroApplications, Inc. Research Task Pane Service Demonstration

MicroApplications, Inc. has developed an XML Web Service supporting Microsoft's® exiting new Research Task Pane (RTP)available in the Microsoft® Office System 2003. We developed this Web Service to allow you to query our BLog for postings and articles based on keywords, and developed it as a demonstration of what we can develop for you. We can connect an RTP Web Service to your data and make available for your own internal use, or for the whole world. This is a great new use of XML. Further details are available here.

Get ready for Windows XP SP2's Security Lockdown

Windows XP Service Pack 2 is currently in beta testing, but Microsoft has released a number of white papers and articles describing all of the new improvements and default high security settings that will come with it. While a lot of the material described here is aimed at developers, Administrators should also start to prepare for its release by reading these articles as well.
