Here are some Midi Sequences that I have either developed myself, or worked on with others. Several are original tunes, and all are in the contemporary jazz idiom. At the time I sequenced these, I had a Roland Sound Canvas daughterboard on an original Sound Blaster Pro 16-bit card, so while I tried to produce sequences that will play on General Midi synthesizers, sometimes I couldn't help but take advantage of the Roland GS standard. I produced most of these sequences for back-up in live performance. I recorded several of them to MP3 format, and you can stream them onto an MP3 player to hear what I heard as I mixed them down on my old Roland/Creative equipment.
I also play guitar (acoustic steel string and classical), and bass -- that's where I started. There's a great guitar web site here. I'm just getting into digital recording after having produced Rick Bennett's latest CD, Short Stories and Tall Tales last year. You can hear a 26 second (about 550K) snippet of a nice ballad called 'Bitter Wine' by clicking here. 'Bitter Wine' is © 1995, Rick Bennett. Download for personal use only.
