We have written a Web service for the Microsoft Office 2003 Research Task Pane feature. You can use this
service to search the MicroApplications.com Blog from within Office products,
such as Microsoft Office Word 2003. We can develop a data-driven Research
Service for your Web Server using your database today!
There are two options to start using this service:
Manually adding the Research Service:
Start Microsoft Word, select Tools | Research from the menu (or press
Alt+Click). Then click on the Research Options hyperlink at the bottom of the
Research task pane. Click on the Add Services... button and enter:
http://www.microapplications.com/Research/query.asmx
as the service address, and then follow the wizard to add the
MicroApplications, Inc. Blog Research Service.
Using a .REG file:
download a registry file in a zip arrhive. After downloading the file, unzip the contained .reg file into a temporary location, and double click on it
to import the registry entries onto your local machine.
Once you have the MicroApplications.com BLog Research Service installed, open
the Research task pane in Word, type the search criteria (one word searches
return the best results), select "MicroApplications.com Blog" under "All
Research Sites" and click on the arrow to perform the search.
E-mail any comments to
